I was wondering...if i get an after market header for my dx engine (1997 with the cat integrated into the stock exhaust manifold)...what qwill happen to the cat and what exhaust would i use, doesnt this eliminate the cat? also aftrermarket dx and ex headers are the same correct? thanks!

ull either have to go without a cat or get an civic EX cat... which i have if ur interested and i also have a DC 4-1 header if ur interested in that too...

 

What he said. You can get a 97 up EX header, cat, bpipe, rear muffler. My 97 DX has this exact setup.

 

ok...but now what happens with the 2nd oxygen sensor>?? did you have to run it down to the cat and extend the wires??

 

Yes extend the wires and put it in after the cat.

 

if u go the cheap route with no cat then just stick one o2 into the header and then wrap the other with foil so u wont throw cel... works great

 

Exactly what Rice said. Extend the O2 sensor wire and run it through the engine bay, and use the EX extension for the primary O2 sensor....
