the car had a d16z6 in it. i pulled that in favor of a b18a since i got free mounts and axles. so now i have the b18a in and ready to go, the engine turns over fine but wont start. i pulled a plug out and it smelled like gas so i assume its getting gas. when i pulled the plug out i placed it on different grounds and cranked the engine there was no spark. i pulled cap and rotor off and it looks fine. wtf mate?

 

possibly a bad igniter, try and find a known good dizzy and give er a whirl.

 

it was the coil. i took a coil out of a d16 distributor and installed it. it works fine.
