Default Intake Filters - Top Fuel

Hey guys, has anyone heard anything good or bad about the Top Fuel Power Chamber Kit (air filter).

I am looking to purchase one for my 1998 CTR (EK9). I am currently running a HKS Metal Mesh filter from an Evo7, it looks the part but I have been told the metal mesh filters should only be used for track days as there filtration isn't to good. So I am now on the hunt for a good looking filter with stainless steel pipe work but that has good filtration. From reading the Internet for many hours I believe the cotton/paper based filters are the best for filtration.

Below is a pic of my current HKS one,

Thanks.

I can't say I agree with the above reply, I understand the want for a quality product.

I've never heard of Top Fuel brand so I cannot comment, however I have read really good things about Apexi's air filter.

Look Here: http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/

Buzzbomb - yeah I have read this report before. I looked at getting a Apexi filter but you don't get any chrome pipe work, and as I also use mine at shows it needs to look good as well. That’s why I looked at the Top Fuel.

I know Top Fuel make quality products, as didn’t they make like the 450BHP Civic, there official site is http://www.topfuel.to
If you can read it.

Speedy EK9 - Do u have an EK9? If so what modifications do you have and what BHP is it running?

Thanks for the help,
Rik

One option is to buy a CAI with piping and all, then ditch the filter that came with the kit and put on the Apexi. Try to find a used AEM intake.

My friend has some AEM Intakes for sales, they are the long tracked ones which sit in your bumper. What do you think of them are they supposed to be any good?

hahaha thats fuckn incredible, i can't belive you would spend that kinda money on something just for looks. yes intakes do make a difference but if you search around on here people have found what makes more power as with intakes. **** as for filters being good i mean the engine doesn't really need any help its got a damn good vacum going on, your manily going to see a gain/lose with the pipeing bends= less HP. do a search adn you will se what i mean

I thought the price was quite cheap, about $229 which works out around £120. A normal filter HKS/Blitz over here in the UK would cost like £200 plus easily.

My car is on show again this year and therefore the filter needs to look half decent. I have gone for the best on other parts for my Civic, Jun, Skunk2 so why go for second best on the filter.

Will keep you posted.
