I know the designated is 8900, but can you take it any higher safely?

Thanks

8400 buddy. You could probably take it to 9000, but why? The power drops off at 8000.

I've seen my RPM needle rev all the way up to 9,100 before fuel cut-off with my JDM ITR swap, but now it only goes to 8,900.....though I think it's because my JDM ITR gauges were incorrect in the first place. ??

I'd say most (if not all) ITR gauges read a bit high... 8400 rpm is the redline, fuel cut at 8500

Not always true. After I was tuned my roomie and I did a little math and my ideal **** point is ~8700. Nicely enough I have a 9k redline.

The normal concensus is that the valvetrain is good til 9100rpm, but I wouldn't suggest it on a regular basis

fuel cut off is at 8500....factory tacs appear a couple hundred rpm high....but my factory R motor can hit 8700-8800rpm..and yes it is on UPSHIFTS, but there really is not point on going passed 8400ish not unless u get excited like me

nice avatar, my vtec afc has actually read up to 8600 rpm but I think the fuel cut off is 8500 rpm on the jdm itr motor.

We have over here (UK) a couple of R going over 10k.

But obviously they're aren't standard, lol
