I am trying to find an exhaust for my 91 3 dr. with an LS swap. Does anybody have any recommendations on what they like to use. I'm leaning towards the RS-R. I don't like the fact that it exits on the passenger side though.

 

me personally i like the sound and look of the Thermal exhausts

 

Does the muffler sit side ways like the stock one? I'm trying to find one that comes straight out the back with no bends.

 

If you do that, you are going to be running the piping right under the gas tank... IMO, run it like normal, just get piping bent for it to come out straight. My exhaust has a slight tilt to it (OBX bomb muffler), but a friend had an exhaust ran the same way as normal, but the exhaust shop ended up doing more of a bend out the back and it sits straight out, no tilt at all.

 

Trust. no exceptions

 

straight out the back is LAME! way ugly. get a clean wrap around. I'll show you how lame it looks since i tried it ..



MUCH better with the trust and 2 inch tip .. much cleaner and the cops wont trip off you as much.



The old days of loud nasty mufflers are gone bro, that **** isnt hot anymore .. aim for something a little quiter and cleaner.

RS-R Doesnt exit out the passenger side. It comes accross and exits out sideways on the driver side.

EDIT: Sorry I was wrong its Invidia that I was thinking about. not RSR

I think each individual has their own opinion on "what **** is hot"-Alot of people don't like quiet exhausts.

Also-i think exhaust on the passenger side looks stupid because there is a cutout for it on the drivers side-but that is just my opinion.

I dont dispute that however the fact remains that this sport advances and matures and a big *** nasty muffler with a 5 inch tip loud as hell just isnt that cool anymore espically when most of the people that have them have no other mods on their car except some neon lights and a flea market sounds system.

 

This is something that comes up all the time, and everyone ends up recommending what mullfer they have on their car. So, in the H-T tradition, go with Thermal, it works for me!

It does come out of the passenger side. Look at the web site. I'm talking about the gt2 exhaust.

 

I have the Apexi WS. Cheap and well built. 60mm piping (Greddy is 50mm). Exits from drivers side. I'm not sure why more people don't have it. I've been
VERY happy with it.

i know our cars came with the exhaust exiting the driver side.. but why would you want 2 extra bends???

Don't laugh, but I've got a Vibrant Exhaust on my '91 - HB and it looks and sounds killer, not too loud and has a nice deep sound to it. It sits like factory and the chrome muffler look good too. I'll post a couple pics, if I can, tomorrow. OK, now you can laugh.
