Default My productive day off (minor fabrication)

So yesterday morning I took a ride over to Home Depot and bought some stuff. I bought steel strap and an aluminum bar. And I had some leftover CF from something else I was Building and Bam!, I had a new camera mount/C-pillar bar. All I had to bend the steel was a hammer, vise, and a blow torch to convince it a little. It was hard as hell to bend, especially the second bend. Oh well, heres pics

You will want some rubber between the bar and the mount, to reduce vibration

Looking good

I could do the chick in your avatar myself, and that would rock too .

On Topic~ Def good do it yourself, the rubber suggestion sounds appropriate to avoid the extra vibrations.

Yeah, I glued a peice of bike tire to the other side of the CF. Its just so thin that you cant really see it. I'll try it out later in the week, and dampen accordingly. It beats strapping a tripod in the backseat though ....

Total cost: $18.67. The most expensive parts were the allen bolts/nuts{which I probably had, but was too lazy to look for} I have some foam blocks from a BMW airbag shipping container that I will most likely use for dampening the camera. I'll post some videos from it soon...
