My head is fucked up and I feel that it is because I have 1 or more bad valve seals, and possibly because I've had a ticking bent valve since I got the motor last fall.

I was wondering, if I get a spring compressor tool, how difficult is it to replace these two things? I'm kinda questioning it because in the Helms they do valve lapping, and heat up the head on an electric stove and all this **** that I really dont want to do, I'd rather just buy a new B16 head for $300.

just get a valve job done $250 and take the machinist the seals. that was the cost of the last one and it was really bad with backcutting on the valves. any machinist will check it out and even fix most the problems if any

 

The seals are no problem to replace. If you have a bent valve, your engine will sound like ****, like it is running on three cylinders. If that is the case, the valve guide is what should be changed. Yeah, heat the block and then drift it out with a hammer and punch. Do the same to reinstall.
For the first time, get a shop to do it and ask if you can watch...
Make sure they check the bore of the guide and spec it out with the diameter of the valve stem...

I'm I'm going to spend $300+ on for someone to do it + the cost of valve seats, guides, seals, and valves, I might as well just buy a 99-00 head for like $350
