My Review: ACT XTSS clutch kit and Prolight (8.8) flywheel
Finally the clutch kit and flywheel that had been sitting on my dresser for the past couple of weeks got installed. I took it to my local stealership (Sutton Acura) and dropped the car off with the parts. an hour and a half later i get a call from Kenny, the Service Manager. To make a long story short (about this anyways) he told me that they were going to have to remove my header to get to a bolt on the tranny. Because of the extra work it was going up to $625 I told him I would come back and pick the car up. He said he would call me back in 15 and to let him talk with Chas, the guy working on my car. I said ok. He called back 15 min later and said we'll do it [for the price we quoted], its just a little extra work. I said thank you and hung up.
So this morning i picked up the car. With the clutch and flywheel installed and the tranny fluid changed. I paided them $403.75
So without further adue, my review:
a dodge viper dont have anything on my clutch. ITS A ******* LEG PRESS! There is no play in the pedal at all, the clutch engages as soon as you move your foot with a lot of kick back. As some of you might be getting the wrong idea, I love this clutch. It is going to take some getting used to. I like the feel of a heavy clutch b/c you can really feel the engagement. As for the flywheel, my car is A LOT smoother! The speedo sweeps just about as fast as the tach too. The car doesnt strain anymore. Cruising @ 90mph @ 5,000 rpms the normal strain felt from the car is no longer present. The car seems like its begging for more revs. The myth that a light flywheel makes you rev the **** out of the car just to get it to go is completely false. I might have had to rev it 300rpms higher than before to get it to go at the same rate as before.
My final verdict: The ACT XTSS clutch and 8.8lb fly was worth every penny

I love my prolite 9lbs flywheel. No problems with ideal or engaging at all.
Glad to here you like your clutch. How much was just the clutch and pressure plate if you don't mind me asking?

Hell yeah.
I'm looking to get the ACT Prolite in a few days! then JDM Final!
was looking into Fidanza but seeing how the Prolite is Chromoly--I'll roll w/ that
can't wait,...I wanted TODA,..but damn I cant see myself spending that $$$ for products that are I'm sure the same Quality if not better @ half the price!(same thing goes for JDM ITR header vs. DC JDM)
TODA I'm sure is worth it as well,..but not on my pocket IMO.(Install labor will probably OWN me as it is?)
does the flywheel work well w/ the USDM starter and everything that is normally experienced w/ Lightweight FW's?I would think so seeing how ATC is a US product(right?)
Nice review!
where should I buy my Prolite from?
