Default NeW BatterY!?

well, i just ordered the hawker, Genesis (G16EP) Sealed Lead Acid Battery and wanted to know what some of you using this battery think of it and how you rate it. its 13.5 lbs so thats whats really making me happy right now LOL, anyways, i would like some feedback on the battery please and how long i should expect it to last and whether it will give me problems or not. weather wise, i live in southern cali so i dont think i'll be seeing 30 degrees and below. by the way, i am probably going to get an s2k in the near future/within the next 3-4 months and was wondering if this will fit in the s2k? i just ordered it for my prelude sh by the way. would it fit in the s2k or no?thanks guys. heres the link...

It'll work in the s2000. You wont have problems unless you plan to run amps and a large stereo system.

be sure to get the metal jacket as the stock mounting location is near the exhaust manifold.

The metal jacket isn't necessary, I'm not even running a header shield or battery shield. The extra $10 for the jacket is a waste unless the battery is exposed in an area directly next to heat or water or anything else corrosive.

Just like caps tire valve caps! Not necessary but an added level of protection :D Thanks for the insight!

The battery works great. I believe these batteries are the same (just re-branded). I have used one in my S2000 for almost a year so far and it has worked perfectly, even in 20 degree weather. I used a new aluminum clamp and modifed the plastic tray to secure the battery a little better, but it will work with stock battery retention parts.

I kept the stock plastic tray and added a flat piece of plastic about .200" thick that is a rectangle the size of the plastic tray with a rectangular cut out taken out of the center that is the size of the battery. This basically locates the battery on all four sides at the bottom so it can't move fore and aft or side to side. Probably overkill but simple and effective.

It doens't come stock on S2000s. You can buy them from http://www.ricks2k.com

He's good good customer service. The "S" badges are not my cup of tea personally...
