The metal jacket isn't necessary, I'm not even running a header shield or battery shield. The extra $10 for the jacket is a waste unless the battery is exposed in an area directly next to heat or water or anything else corrosive.

Just like caps tire valve caps! Not necessary but an added level of protection :D Thanks for the insight!

The battery works great. I believe these batteries are the same (just re-branded). I have used one in my S2000 for almost a year so far and it has worked perfectly, even in 20 degree weather. I used a new aluminum clamp and modifed the plastic tray to secure the battery a little better, but it will work with stock battery retention parts.
I kept the stock plastic tray and added a flat piece of plastic about .200" thick that is a rectangle the size of the plastic tray with a rectangular cut out taken out of the center that is the size of the battery. This basically locates the battery on all four sides at the bottom so it can't move fore and aft or side to side. Probably overkill but simple and effective.

You talking about this?

It doens't come stock on S2000s. You can buy them from http://www.ricks2k.com
He's good good customer service. The "S" badges are not my cup of tea personally...
