Not sure bout da V8 but, da X-Runner has a V6 with plenty of power in reserve. To bad the truck is almost the same size and weight of the current Tundra

mikehonda: who never knows what to expect when hang'n wit da yoshta!

Just speculation but I'm guessing the X-Runner is gonna be built on the same platform as the current 4-Runner. The V6 offered in the 4-Runner V6 (245 hp @ 5,200 rpm/282 lb.-ft) puts out a bit more power than what they're showing for the X-Runner. But if it does end up being the same platform I betcha they'll offer a V8 maybe not the first year but a couple years into the production run.

4-Runner sidenote: My wife and I went and drove a V8 4-Runner a couple weekends ago. We both loved it I was thinking "man this would be great to tow the R" and she was probably thinking "3rd row seating we can have 5 kids". hehehe

According to my toyota rep...."The Tundra will soon be the one of the smallest trucks we offer. Can you say full sized?"

Watch out Chevy, Ford, and Dodge.....also hinted about a "bigger" V8 on the way.

Louie~ who also works for toyota......oh what a feeling.

Toyota V8 is so nice and smooth. Lots of torque for towing. TRD came out with a SC for the V8 and it makes ridiculous power, while maintaining factory warranty. Some guy in the 4Runner board has one installed:

I think the 3rd row seating is poorly designed.... Toyota put it in there just because some people were complaining for not having it (well at least Toyota listens). It takes up a LOT of trunk space.
