Just need to know what year civic put the head unit down where the cup holders are in my 00ex. I want to move my head unit down there and need to know what I need to get and where from. I ahve not seen allot of them down there, but I know some hondas had just a cd player down there, I think. Any one know what I am talking about?

i know i got the whole console out of a 99 ex from the wrecking yard, and put my cd player down there in my 94 lx. It was a bitch. but bein those cars had the cd player down there, it shouldnt be bad at all. when i was pulling it out, there was alot of room back there, you might have to extend your factory wires to get down there, but instal should be good and fairly easy.

 

The JDM eg civic came with an audio console option that put 2 more din slots down where the cup holders are.

 

In my 97 Civic, I just moved the Radio down there and it was a perfect fit. I dont think that any American Honda came with the radio there, people just moved it because it fit and was low profile.

I know that this comes from the factory. I used to know a kid that I was stationed with who had the cd player down there. But it was not the 99-00 civic like mine, it was a 96. The center consols are similar, but not the same. Any one else? once again, the car this is for, is an 00 ex. Thanks again.

my interior is stock and the main head unit is in the dash with the stock cassette player by the cup holders. i don't know what to put to replace the cassette player but they stock main dash unit is gone.....

Not to bitch about the whole JDM thing.. but that isnt a JDM EG Optional console.

in the 96-98 the lower storage area is for an optional "CD" player. if you don't have one there, then you get the storage compartment. A lot of guys have put there head units down there, as well as there lcd monitors.
