Default Need A Head Unit

Ok, first things first... My 01 coupe needs a cd player. Are there any head units that would just fit right in replacing the cassette player or do I need to get one and like a custom fitting? I really want one that just fits right in, no problems, and looking to spend no more than $500 installed, unless I do it myself... Any suggestions?

you can instal any DIN size cd player. But you will have to wire in an adapter harness. It's easy to do and you could DIY.

Honestly a stereo shop in your own area would be a better source for finding out how much this will cost, because we do not know your knowledge of installing equipment and we don't know what kind of deck you are looking for. My personal preference is alpine decks though.

Alpine CDA 9845 i believe is what i have, it has an aux in in the back so you dont need an fm transmitter for ur ipod, also its got some sound controls that really shake the car. but its silver tho sticks out in my black dash

I have done some work on GTi's, Stangs, and a few other imports with some friends... They usually come to me and my friend Trey for help on parts and installation haha... I did a swap with my friend on his Escape, didnt seem too hard. I think I could maybe take care of it if its not too complicated.

go to http://www.crutchfield.com/ , and in the middle of the page under "Helpful Info & Shopping Tools", go to "Find What Fits My Car". From there, fill out the info.. and u could buy some of the stuff from ebay or local audio/electronic places.. (bought my head unit at best buy). my friend helped me install it; fairly easy to DIY; otherwise, i heard that bestbuy installs it for like.. $75.. which is pretty expensive, ahha.

Yea I'll have to check those things out. I don't think it would be too hard.
