Default Pics of my all motor crx engine...enjoy

That is a properly build lsvtec I am tired of people putting it down...when I got the head it was full of calcium deposits , rust type of stuff...and etc....it was ported and polished out 3 angle valve job, notice the oil hole is plugged, it was welded and then resurfaced.....you can just put a stupid fitting in there and think it won't leak

Anyhow hereis the setup

lsvtec b18a1/b16a(pr3)

ported and polished head, 3 angle valve job, polished cumbustion chambers, deshrouded, titanium retainers, dual valve spring, cat cams race cams
Tapp Auto cam gears, skunk 2 manifold, FPR

Custom exhaust 2 1/4 with dynomax ultraflow, airmass header, knN filter

fuel is FPR , hondata, 510cc injectors.

civictype-r pistons, gs-r oil pump and water pump

I will post more pics soon. I made 190whp at 8300 rpms only the curve is still climbing but I rather not rev it too too high

Just wanted to say that if you build the lsvtec up and don't cheap out you can make a good engine rev to 8300 which is only 1100 more than stock ls....

No leaks , no missing, no backfires....nothing.....

and 12 somthing compression

food for thought

hrrm......isnt it the BLOCK that needs strengthening? granted all the stuff you have done is nice..... but without some sort of block reinforcing and/or Stronger Rods youre asking for trouble......

Block is good
I dont know why everybody thinks the ls is so weak The B20 well that is cause its a bored b18 with thin walls.
The only weak point to a B18 would be the rod bolts and from what I hear something should be done aout the girdle(I am not for sure just what I heard).
And with no oil squirters a simple solution is forged pistons.

yeah but they dont over-rev a stock block...

redline is what 6800 on the ls block not 8300, you should have gotten at least a girdle if you want to rev that high...

2.25 exhaust on an all motor application? you should be running 2.5 to let that monster breath a little more

Its not the block....there was an article about it somewhere on here...it has to do with the crank ratio beeing all off....a rev happy engine will have a smaller diameter crank....overrevving an engine with a larger diameter crank creates sidewall pressure in the block.

Not sure how _dangerous_ it is.

BTW Nice engine joel...you's better watch out for my winterbeater ya heard! The civic is missing at least 100lbs due to rust...so watch out

Don't believe the hype. I have 2 of these motors spinning 9k all the time without problems. Stock rods, no oil squiters, no girdles. Stop reading and start building engines and you will know what works and what does'nt.

I only spin that high so that when I shift ,1st to 2nd. So that the rev drop puts me closer to peak power.
Peak power is 8400 rpm or so. Yea, to be honest "all day" is a stretch, but I wanted to get my point across.
