EK buyers advice wanted.
Im going to look at an EK that im considering buying on wednesday and i was just wondering what are some of the main things i needed to check out that are specifically related to an EK. what is famous for going bad on them and what to be weary of other than the usual ****. Hope that makes sense.
If you've had an ek what are some of the things i should look at specifiaclly when i go to look at one?
BTW: its a 96 dx

nothing out of the ordinary, just like any other used car. only thing i can think of that ive run into is a water leak into the trunk. look for signs of water in the spare tire well and rust along the underside of the trunk where the gasket is to seal against the trunk lid (bad on mine). other than that if you could i would hold out and look a little more and try and find an ex if you plan on doing mods down the road. 96 dx coupe-mini-me here.
Make sure the front end has not been hit by looking inbetween the radiators and seeing if the front supports are bend and if the upper radiator support has been rewelded.
I love my 97 hatch, the only prob that I have come across and that I noticed alot of 6th gen hatch owners have also is the water in the rear. The trunk always floods when it rains in my hatch. I still need to fix it. I heard that you need to double the gaskets for the taillights or the gasket around the rear hatch. I dunno but I need to fix it before rain season comes...
i have not had any problems with my 97 hatch. only thing i'm wondering, have any of you had a stupid little rattle from either of the door panels? i did, and i fixed it by applying some foam tape around the edge of the inside handle trim plate. this shimmed it to where what ever was ticking inside stopped.

Dumb ***. That was the most useless post I have ever seen.
Just do all the things you do with any car. Check anything and everything. Get down beneath it and look for any signs of damage or alteration. Check the spare, see if it is original. Check all the little places inside the car, make sure it is clean. Just look at everything. I havent had any specific problems with mine except that bolts hate me and like to snap.
