91 LS engine into EG, wiring quesiton?
I have a 95 vx hatch and i am droppin in a 91 ls engine and i was wondering what i should consider or what i have to change when wiring this engine in, i have also have a pr4 ls ecu. so any suggestions would be help ful
youll have to convert from a 5 wire o2 to a four wire i believe. but since your using a b18a1 block and the corresponding ECU, it might be 5 wire to 1 wire im not too sure. might be easier to just get the teg harness.
teg harnss has some extra plugs on it, it would be better to find a 92-85 dx harness to put on there and get a four wire o2 to put in it. si,and ex will work but youll have the vtec pressure and silnoid just hanging there
Just reuse the VX harness on the B18A1. You'll have a few plugs leftover, which is nothing to worry about they are just extra's since the LS motor is a nonVTEC. You'll need to convert the wiring to accept a 4 wire O2 and change the O2 plug. You'll need to get a 4 wire O2 also since the B18A1 uses a 1 wire and the VX has the 5 wire wideband O2. Other than that, you might need to extend a few plugs to reach when adapting the harness to the motor.
Make sure that you get an OBD1 LS distributor (92-95) and OBD1 injectors which you can reuse your stock VX injectors no problem. The OBD0 distributor and injectors that come on the B18A1 will not work with an OBD1 ECU. You should also be using an OBD1 P74 LS ECU.
