PLEASE advise...stuttering problem. TPS? o2 sensor?
ok let me start off by saying, my car runs perfectly other than this problem. but this, ANNOYS THE HELL OUT OF ME.
when i press the gas quickly at idle, like more than halfway down, the engine stutters like 2-3 times and then revs slower than it seemingly should until it gets to like 1800rpm's and then it feels fine. if i press the gas down slowly or progressively, this does not happen- it revs smoothly from idle.
it's a '96 civic w/ a d16y7 motor. the motor has excellent compression and low miles. it has a d16y8 intake manifold on it (with d16y7 TB on the IM to correct IAC pinout issues w/ DX ecu). also, i did have to change the TPS over from the y8 TB to the y7 TB because the y7 TB did not come with one.
this problem has baffled me for several months. all ignition components (cap/rotor/wires/plugs/igniter/coil/etc are new). one of the o2 sensors has been replaced within the past year, but im not sure which one.
needless to say, the throttle response feels like crap because of this issue. can someone clue me in on what is causing this?
thanks,
drew

no CEL, but doesnt the CEL only show if its more than just a little off? anyway....just checked the voltages....
this is fucked. my voltmeter only reads whole digits. it goes from 0v at closed throttle to 4v at WOT but i have no idea if its rounding down/up or whatever.
i think im just gonna screw this TB and buy another one. see my WTB/WTT thread in the classifieds: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=769606
i need one of these ASAP unless someone can offer any other assistance on this issue.
thanks again,

is your dvm set auto or manual? if it manual the set it to the lowest voltage. then try to adjust the tps at closed throttle and at wot, by losen the 2 screw and move it left, or right. use t pin or needle to peer the wire and use aligator clip to clip on the t pin so you can adjust it easier.
