Will I hate Azenis on stock rims?

Well its that time again. The R is in need of a set of tires. I'm in the process of gathering parts for my up coming 2.0liter build so I've been thinking about possibly saving a little cash on tires if I can. However, I still plan on staying with a high performance tire. I can't stand having crappy tires on the R.
My personal favorite all around tire that I have run is S03's in 195/50. I'm thinking about purchasing them again but the price is on the upper end. The Azenis on the other hand only run about $62-65 a tire.
I'm currently running on Pirellis P Zero's, which have been a great tire for the price (got them on clearance for only $200 for the set), but they were a step down from the SO3's.
What I want to know is if the sloppy feeling of the Azenis on the stock rims will be more than I can stand? I can handle the lack of responsiveness as long as it isn't any worse than my current Pirellis given the fact that overall grip will be better, but if they are that bad I'll go ahead and get S03's or possibly the new GSD3's.
Thanks in advance.

no i think you will enjoy azenis, had it on the car for about 6 months....not a problem....it look nice and a bit wider and aggresive....its a good tire for the money..but always remember you get what you pay for
azenis

I have some almost brand new 205-50-15 S03s I can sell you for a very good price. Just IM me.
Personally you won't hate the azenis on stock rims. They grab very very well but even a 6.5 wide rim feels way better with these tires. A bit sloppier than stock tires but can't really tell a difference in the straights.

If your going from a 195/50 to a 205/50 you will hate them. Your current tires have no flex compared to the Azenis you want to put on.
But the grip will be a whole buch better.

Nope.
I'm going to be switching from an awesome 195/50 to the azenis fairly soon... but I'm not really worried, I had the azenis on before and I love them.

Depends how hard you drive. I have some that have over 15k miles and they are about 50%, still have lots of life to go.

I wouldn't recommend the Azenis on stock wheels. Very sloppy until you get them very broken in. By that point they're so noisy you can't wait till they're dead so you can put something else on.
Tough to beat performance wise, but not a very good daily driver tire. My Kumho MX's are MUCH quieter and offer near Azenis levels of performance. Those are very sharp either on stock wheel. I'd check out the AVS ES100's....I think they come in a 195/55/15 and are cheap and offer very good performance!

Hmm.
I love my azenis. Second set on stocks for me. Noise is not an issue for me, I've never even noticed.

That depends on how much of the time you drive on wet pavement, and how sensitive you are to noise. If neither of those are issues for you, go for it.
If wet traction is an issue, I would suggest either the higher-prices S-03 or RE010, or if money is also an issue, the Yoko ES100 ($58/tire in 195/55-15).

I gotem and lovem, i live in s.florida so the rain doesnt get much worse then here. I had the tires for over a year and they own. I actually love the sound of the tires. sounds like the car is heavy on the street and its really not. But i cant hear **** now with the comptech exhaust on mah R
If noise is an issue for you, you bought the wrong car
I'm on my 3rd set of Azenis, and they grip great right out of the gate. I get about 15K out of them.

For you folks who say that you like them on stock 6" wide wheels--have you ever actually had a set on a wider wheel?
If not, then you have no idea what you are missing.
And yes, I can think of several other tires I'd rather have as my daily driver tires than the Azenis.

These tires are the epitomy of sloppy feel.

Are you saying S03's AND GSD3's are sloppy feeling? I hate to say but my S03's in 195/50 were VERY responsive. I've heard rumors of the GSD3's feeling sloppy, maybe you are just talking about them.

I don't think I can comment on whether or not they are sloppy. They grip like a SOB and isn't that what we ultimately want? After two pairs, they are just as precise as 195 Bridgestones. Get a pair and go autocrossing, you'll be pleased. However, don't expect many miles from them. 8-10,000 miles for me.

When I bought my car, it came w/ 205 50 on stock rims. I thought the steering response was a bit mushy, but these tires were worn. I put 195 50 15 s03's on last year and they grip well. Steering was improved, but I think the lack of flex inthe sidewalls cause the tires to be real jerky on poor pavement. The tires seem to grab the road and jerk the steering wheel from side to side. I just bought some used6.5" rota slips w/ 205 50 15 azenis. I can't wait to try these out. I'm hoping the 205 on a 6.5" will be the setup I'm looking for.

if you only drive your R in the summer i strongly recommend either the S03's or Yokohama A032R's.
I had A032R's on my hatch 2 summers ago and they were the best tires i've ever had, now i sold some to my buddy on here and he has them on his ITR (stock wheels) and he loves them to death.
Only problem with the A032R's is that they are a soft compound, so you won't see much life out of the tires if you plan to daily drive with these
