ok guys i dont know if its still in my head or not but, i put my new dc header on my c5 motor and then valve tap seemed to be present, and i heard that the header will cause internal engine noise to be heard easily. but anyway i had the vlaves adjusted and the noise is still there. so if it is a valve tap i thinking of switch to 15w40 mobile 1 oil, that may help quiet things down, im currently using 5w30. do you guys thinks there will be any ill effects to this switch??

 

Band-aid Fixes are bad.

Adjust your valves. There's no reason to run a thicker oil.

 

stick to 5w30 or 10w30. that valve tap you hear is either your normal valve ticking increased with the new header, or possibly the injectors ticking. my car hated 15w40. just my 2 cents.
