my boys dad is doing a auto to manual conversio on my car next week, he called me lastnight and told me that the tranny he is getting from his junk yard will run me $600, does that sound about right for a used one?
yeah that is way high...at the most i would pay $200 for a d16 cable tranny, of course it depends on pricing in your area...
hey check out http://www.urbanracer.com they have a classifieds section and its all mostly east coast i bet you can find something

Too much, you can get good hydraulic-clutch D-series trannies for less than $300 and good cable-clutch D trannies for less than $200. $600 is getting into B-series territory. For around that price, you can get a completely rebuilt D with all new internals.
