I am trying to use a p28 to run an h22 so I can ditch EGR but keep the engine running close to stock. I have heard people say you can modify a p28 to control IABs but I have not seen any instructions on what to add and I have searched everywhere. I also need a bin with no knock sensor or the address so I can disable it on a stock bin. I have a spoon map I can try that is said to have no knock but I would like something stock or close without the stunna revlimiter.

for the knock sensor, why not just use crome to disable it?

for iab, why not just use a p72 and edit the rom with your favorite editor to adjust iab and fuel/ign for the h22

I have seen the p30 IAB conversion on pgmfi.org, i tried searching and could not find anything for a p28 unless its the same(ill check that out, never even thought about that). If I i use uberdata or crome the knock sensor is no problem but then I have to start with p72 code and do some dyno tuning to get the car running like stock. If someone new the hex address of the the knock sensor in the stock p13 bin I could simply turn it off and be done with it.

 

NM found the IAB conversion buried in the WIKI, missed it before. Now if I could just kill the knock sensor on a p13 bin I would be set. Anyone know if the JDM p13s have knock sensor.

 

you could also import the p13 maps into a p28/p30/p72. i vaguely remember seeing them on pgmfi.

 

That the plan, the only problem is they will have the knock sensor enabled and it will trip a code, I need to disable knock sensor first.

huh? i'm a little confused. if you import just the fuel/ign maps from a p13 into a p28, then you can disable the knock sensor (using crome or at 0x60E7) and be done with it. personally, i would use the p72 for this setup since it already controls iabs and you can easily disable the knock sensor. another option would be to use a jdm rom since (i believe) it doesnt have a knock sensor because of their 100 octane fuel. last option (bandaid) would be to trick the ecu into thinking there is a knock sensor connected, see here

 

I have not been following crome latelty, can it open a p13 map or is there a script yet to allow me to view the maps? If that was the case then I would import the maps into p72 code but I need to view the maps first.

no, crome is not p13 compatible yet (at least not that anyone is sharing). what i meant was to use the p28/p72 roms with the p13 maps. then you can use crome/uberdata to edit it to your hearts content. here is a link to one rom and links in the thread to others. hope this helps, late.

 

Yea, I see flyrod on their made a map for p28 and I found a p72 he made by searching his posts. I am going to try using the p72 map with knock disabled since I managed to add the IAB circuit tonight using parts from an old p06 and the instructions in the wiki, hopefully it works. If anyone else has any other h22 p28/p72 maps id still like to see them.
