Took the R out this weekend...
Haven't had the R out in about 8 weeks now
, so I decided it needed a drive.
I took it out on Valentines day with my woman. It was sunny and warm and thought why the hell not.
Every time I drive the R I always wonder why I want to sell it. Maybe I should, but I can't get myself to. I have never driven a car that I get this much of a rush every time I get behind the wheel (well Except for my step-grandpa's Shelby Cobra replica).
After driving the TauRus on a daily basis, the R feels like a little rocket.
Just thought I would share for those of us that do not drive the R's daily during the Winter.

Same here in Jersey at 15F last night. Didn't touch the R for 2 months and decided to
go for a good drive after 9pm with no traffic. DAMM, I missed her after putting around in my 94 Tercel beater! Never felt so right and put away that thought of growing up by buying an S2K.

I know exactly how you feel. I live near chicago so we haven't had the best driving weather. I had to have a guage checked out so valentine's day was the day to drive it.
It was amazing. THe way I could whip through the turns with ease. I love that car so much. I drive a Grand Prix in the winter and is nothing compared to my R. I used to love winter, but since I got the car, in the winter all I do is miss the summer.

Yea man i cant wait to get my new set of summer rubber in a month and ditch the lame winter tires. Its supposed to be almost 50 come next weekend here! (Cleveland)
Same here, drove it to work Friday evening for the first time. Took one of my friends for a ride and it was quite entertaining. He couldn't get over it my favorite comment of his was "I never imagined it would be like this, I can see why people race them" hehehe. Everytime I drive it I forget about any notions of selling/trading etc.
Same thing happened to me today! Hadn't driven the R in about a month cuz of all the crappy we've been having lately. Took it out today to wash it and cruise around. When i don't drive it i consider selling it, then i take it out for i ride and i wanna keep the biatch. I guess i should stop driving it

Man that sounds nice. I have a week off the first week in March and have a few friends who are going down there for Bike Week in Daytona. I might drive the R down there if it stays warm like that. Its been so long since I have driven my R on the interstate with the windows down.
My car is my daily driver so I really dont know what you guys are feeling but it sounds nice.

Pic of my car before warming up to go to work the other morning.

I know the feeling..
Although i don't have a type R, i do have a turbo hatchback that doesn't get driven in the winter. after driving my dodge intrepid all winter, it sure feels nice to get behind the wheel of a manual after not having done so since fall

Oh man I cant wait till I can get a hold of a R in a couple of years and then garage it for the winter and feel the same things you guys are currenting feeling. I tell my girlfriend all the time that we are going to own a R and how its going to feel. I also tell her that I wont let her drive it but she doesn't really care because she doesn't know the centimental value of the ITR.
