Funtion Lever for Climate Control Broken- HELP!!
Ok guys, need some help here it's damn cold in Canada!
First off I drive a 91 Civic Dx Sedan.
Last night I went to adjust my "Function lever" for my Climate control and the lever slid without adjusting where the air/heat comes from (de-fog, vent, floor....)
I'm guessing repairing this involves simlpy re-attaching the lever inside the dash..? Does anyone have any insight on how I should approach this?
How do I go about removing the climate console?
The light bulb behind the Function Lever also went out at the same time, what replacement bulb should I buy before begining this project?
Thanks in advance.

should be able to re-attach the lever, if not u can also follow the cable down in the dash and theres this lever that u can move with your fingers to either side to adjust the temp.
The **** is broke in my car and I adjust it below the dash and just set it to one spot and leave it....

I was able to adjust the lever from the floor, however I 'm looking to permanently fix this problem. Does anyone in HT land have info on repairing the Climate function lever and light?

bump this 5 year old thread :-), i can adjust mine from the floor manually in my 89 civic hatch dx, but the lever on the climate control doesnt move it at all, should i take the climate control out and see if it came disconnected behind the mode selector?
Yes, the climate control unit is pretty easy to remove and then inspect for and correct problems. Remove the panel that surrounds the radio and CCU (should be four screws; open the glove compartment and fuse box lower panel to get to them all). Unfasten electrical connectors as needed. Remove the radio (screws will be obvious). Remove the CCU (look for at least one screw underneath).
Autozone here in the U.S. sells bulb 2721 which replaces the two CCU bulbs exactly. Though OEM would probably last longer. Maybe see if your dealer sells the OEM bulbs cheap.
My 91 Civic's cabin blower speed setting switch failed the other week. I took the CCU out and found that the switch's grease had turned to maple syrup consistency. I cleaned it all with Acetone and applied new grease, and it works perfectly.
