NEED HELP ASAP PLEASE ANYONE!!
okay im building an 89 crx si from a shell. the cabin harness was already in the car, hooked up, seemingly untouched. okay i dropped in a d15b2, used an 88 crx hf engine harness. everything is plugged in and okay, but the car cant start.
i double checked everything in the motor (sensors, grounds,....everything) and still no luck. meanwhile, in the cockpit, the gauge cluster does not work at all. the ignition switch cannot turn on the fuel pump. i changed the ignition switch harness, and still no luck. the only time the fuel pump turns on is when i leave the ignition switch in the "2" "ON" position, and then disconnect and reconnect the battery.
ive tried jumping the starter straight to the battery while using the above method to turn on the fuel pump, but the fuel pump simply shuts off when the car is being cranked. a few times using the above method to turn on the fuel pump, the initial hum that the fuel pump gives off, did not turn off, resulting in a major flood of gas in each of my cylinders, and a mess while trying to clean it up. the main relay was checked by voltimeter, and so was the ignition switch.
i know that the battery is good....im getting 12volts to the main relay and ignition switch, and the head lights work. i didnt touch anything on the cabin harness at all and i have no clue as to what the previous owner of the shell did to the harness, but there seems to be no apparent modification done.
someone told me that the 88hf engine harness cannot work correctly, without repinning some wires to the 89 si cabin harness. is this true?? please help, someone.. i need this car started and am stuck as far as knowing whats wrong. ANY input would be greatly appreciated. thanks

First. edit that huge paragraph. If you hadn't bumped your post so many times, I wouldn't have read it. Make it a few seperate paragraphs.
ok, you have an 89 Si shell, your using an hf engine harness with the si cabin harness, and you have an d15b2 motor, right?
I'm not sure if using 2 different wiring harnesses is a good idea.
Is the hf harness made for the d15b2?
It all sounds like a problem with the harnesses and whether or not they're compatible.

the hf harness is compatible with the d15b2 MPFI'ed. Basically it was the setup on my last car. the harness has nothing to do with being compatible with the block. just the head, manifold, distributor and cabin harness (being that the Si head is the same as the B2 minus the cam). so i looked over anything that hinted compatibility problems. the only one i didnt overlook, and am still questioning, is the compatibility of the 88hf engine harness to the 89 si cabin harness. thanks for the input.
