Can I cut the belt on my AC

Default Can I cut the belt on my AC

can I just cut the belt connected to my AC when taking the AC out?

yes if u want to do it the easy way. or you can just loosen up the tension bolt and remove some things.

Im keeping the PS though so will cutting it affect the PS..

sure cut away. The power steering system has its own seperate belt which is on the outside of the pulley.

if you're gonna cut the belt, you might as well take out the AC system and save 75 pounds. that will make much more of a difference.

i took mine out hte other day

dont listen to those people telling you to have a certified shop do it, just stick a screwdriver in the valve and hold your breath. make sure you are

a) not around greenpeace/police
b) outside, durr
c)ready to run very very far to catch your breath.
