might have a big problem (suspension related)
well i got my si spindles in the other week and had time to put them on friday. everything is going smooth and bolting right up until i get to the left spindle. everything bolts up on it fine except for the bottom bolt of the spindle, i think its the lower control arm that it attaches into. my problem is that the actual bolt that goes through is stripped on the bottom. i don't know if the sender did it. or some magical way i did it before i got to put it on but does anyone know if you can remove these and replace them. i still have my hf spindles so maybe i could just use those. anyone ever run into this? thanks.
can you give the exact process of replacing them? and when rethreading them i would basically take a later off and use a smaller bolt is that the idea. im leaning more towards just replacing that part though. thanks.
i doubt you could successfully fix the thread on the balljoint. using a die to rethread the balljoint wouldnt work without modifying the balljoint because it will just rotate within the balljoint. youd have to cut a slit to keep it in place wit ha screwdriver or something. i suggest just getting a new lower balljoint, probalem is that its $60. you could go to the junkyard for at least a better one than you have at least.
will the ones off my hf work? they are just sitting there about to get junked anyway. they should be the same correct?
any opinions on how to get them out. thanks.

thatll work. actually, the biggest problem would be to properly remove the balljoint from your HF knuckle in a reusable manner. the typical way to remove it is just remove the circlip and wail on it with a hammer, since youre going to replace it with a new one. i suppose youre going to have to remove the boot and make sure you only bang on the outer portion of the balljoint so that you dont destroy the balljoint.

I do this all day long. I use a peice of 1/16" rubber to protect the joint, and a pair of vise grips, in extreme cases I have applied it directly to the joint and filed down the small gouges left. Get a tap, grind down the end of the joint that is damaged(if necessary) to just larger than the threads. Slowly turn on the die allowing it to cut the end to the proper size. Square it with the threads once you feel it start to grab solidly, and go all the way down. A tap is only $3, a little better than 50$ plus removal and assembly, and the end of the threads aren't even used to secure the joint anyway. Where's the "tech" in honda tech lately?
