F22 fourth gen? anyone have any info
Are you getting a good deal on one? I see no reason to put a f22 in a hatch. They are not a direct bolt in if I'm correct and would require some custom fabbing. I think a B or D series swap would be a better choice
yes im getting a good deal, 50 bucks from my buddy, it needs rebuilt, but i would build anything that i put in. Plus i can get prelude parts for cheap cuz my cousin owns an import yard. h22 tranny for 100 bucks..i could buy the place racing weld in mounts for 300 but im just going to make mounts, thats no big deal.
the reason i want to is....147 horespower, and 148 ft lbs of torque...220 horespower is very doable with these engines, and if theres 220 hp..220 ft lbs of torque isnt far behind...which you kno that no honda engine makes torque like that.

Not really. 220hp is do-able, but you'll need forced induction to realistically achieve more than 165 lb-ft or so of torque.

well from all the accord forums ive been reading, if you do head work on the f22 so it will rev to 7k and a good cam, it makes that engine a beast, and then i want to do 11:1 compression and a good all around build..i think i could touch the 180-185 ft lb of torque area....and in a 1800 lb hatch...hehe

wouldn't the hasport mounts work for the h22...which im assuming is the same as the f22...if i could find the dohc vtec f22 prelude si motor...i would swap that one in my 89 std drag car...
good luck

Thats correct, the Hseries mounts would be exactly the same as the Fseries, so it would bolt right in with Hseries mounts...but place racing is the only one that makes them..and there weld in.
Mounts are the least of my worries, i have a parts car this is going to be all mached up on. Ill use the 90-93 accord intremediate shaft, and 91-93 teg axles along with the h22 tranny, and it should be a quick lil car, im hoping for 12s, which i think is reasonable with the amount of power i want to end up with. opinions on that?
Maybe when im done i can give a copy of my mounts to hasport or place to make bolt in kits for the F22

Right. He was probably thinking of the F20B from the JDM 6th-gen Accord SiR - which is basically a de-stroked H22A.

check the honda engine list...its the f22b engine...dohc non-vtec that came prelude Si 92-96 not for sure this came in american cars..seems to be a good alternative powerplant
F22B 2156 160@6000 148@5000 9.2:1 85 95 dohc no 1 or 2 1992-1996 Prelude Si
Doesn't Bisi have this done on his CRX? I heard he sells adapter plates that allow a D-series trans to bolt up to the F22 too.
I am doing the same swap diff. car(crx) I am currently waiting for RS Machines to release there F/H motor d series tranny adapter kits. Hopefully they will be done early March. You get adapter, flywheel and engine mount for around $1350.00. Not bad considering what you are getting. Plus you have alot more gear ratios to play with. Good luck with your swap. F22's are going to become alot more popular do to there cost.

The F20B already has the same head as an H22A.
