Default 3inch exaust out the side of bumper???

wat would be the pros and cons of running exhaust from the side of the front bumper from the turbo..........besides the obvious of being really loud

it would be loud as ****, but also give better spool time than a full exhaust

wont be much different from your setup now ...if anything just get a v-band on the downpipe area and run the side exit for track only

search in archives for a few pics of mine. I just built my FIRST exhaust on my SRT4, the rest of my turbo cars have all had side exits. If you exit the passenger side, it isnt that bad at all!

Does the car get dirty at all? Also, do you have any heat issues with the bumper, like melting?

mines new but i actually cut the hole in the bumper rather large and then put the stainless steel trim plate over it for exactly that reason.

We've never drafted an FI motors exhaust off the front but we've run open downpipe a lot with the higher boost motors (500whp+) and it definately is louder than with a full exhaust... It's not like NA tho, it's more just the resonance it generates (which vibrates the entire car making sort of a roar)... We typically run 4" exhausts so I'm sure that makes a difference too, smaller diameter pipe equals higher exhaust gas velocity which normally sounds a little quieter... As for getting dirty, I'm sure it would... Most FI cars puff a lot of smoke (rich) when they are in boost... We get all kinds of crap on the back of the car even when running a full exhaust... Just my $0.02, Good Luck
