Engine stand mounting locations for D16A6?
Hi,
I have a D16A6 sitting in my garage (on a tire) and I want to get it up on my shiny new engine stand. I'm new to this game and I have no idea how to mount it on the stand. The manual for the engine stand says "mount per the manufacturer's instructions" or something like that. I don't have a CRX manual. Can anyone help me out here? If someone has a pic of a D16A6 and they could put little X's where the engine stand mounts to it, that'd be sweet.
Thanks!

If its a harbour freight one, or one like it, youl need to go out and get longer tranny bolts, becsue teh stock ones arent long enought to go through the sleeve and into the block. And there expensive, like 4.50 a pop, i was pissed, lol.
And it pretty tricky, seeing as the tranny mounts are alot closer than those of a v8, which teh stand was meant for, i have mine mounted on 4 outta 5 bolts, and it looks like a pinwheel, or actaully a swastica(sp?), lol. Just get a stand or stool to get the block up to height, and start fitting the arms to the closest tranny bolt, get them all mounted up, then tighten everything. Good luck.

Ah, I see. The thing i was missing was that you actually have to bolt through the sleeves into the block. For some reason, i was looking at it thinking that it somehow just slid onto those sleeves. Silly me.
Anyway, thanks for the help. Unfortunately, I don't have any tranny bolts. I picked up the block w/ no tranny. Do you know off hand what size and length bolts i need? I could run down to ACE, but the honda dealership is closed.
Thanks!

and im also havin trouble figuring out where to pull the engine from. so do you mean that you are supposed to put a bolt through the chain into the tranny? is there a mounting place on the other side?
if anyone has pics, that would help a lot...

We were talking about an engine stand. What you have is an engine hoist. My engine is already out of the car. I just want to put it on a stand so that I can pull the head off and work on it. I've never used an engine hoist either, but the instructions above don't apply to you.
Sorry.
Sorry.
Hey -
Just for reference, I ended up getting 3 12mm x 80mm bolts and one 10mm x 80mm bolt and they did the trick. Got it up on the stand now and can't wait to start tearing it apart.
