Comptech header for R
I was just looking over the comptechusa.com site, under headers they have two for the Type R. One is TIG welded stainless steel which costs 525 and the other is a MIG welded stainless steel for 425. What is the difference between MIG and TIG and would there be a difference in power between the two? Thanks!
Yeah do yourself and your R a favor and get a JDM brand header. they have a 2.5" collector, but, you'll also need a High Flow catylitic converter.
The TIG welding is a more precise weld and I don't remember if it is free form or wedler fed. The MIG tends to maybe have some more imperfections. Comptech is a very good company that makes stuff for Honda/Acura Exclusively but, there are better choices out there for a good header for your R.
My choice was the Spoon mated to a Carsound H.F. cat.
Good luck,
A.

I had the comptech, it sucks...better than stock, don't get me wrong, but it sucks...
I'm much happier w/ my Spoon
