does anyone have a lsd in trans for their k series? who makes em and how much.

Seriously, some people have the DC5-R tranny in their cars (and the
factory LSD) but I haven't seen too many people installing anything
else. There's the Phantom Grip ( IMO) and Quaife
makes one.

well i don't have first hand experience with the dc-5R lsd but u could actually find pretty good prices on them through the internet. the quaife is a little more expensive. mine was $950 shipped (through earl)when it first came out but then again i hade the first one in north america. the reason i went ahead and ordered it was because the whole tranny was being upgraded for the turbo- flywheel, clutch and lsd. i'm sure it's alot cheaper now since it's been out for a while. i haven't tracked the car yet because i'm still working on suspension. the qauife also has a life time warranty. maybe earl cold chime in if he happens to come across this thread. mike

What do you neab the stock factory LSD? The K20A2 does not have an LSD.
Quaife, ATS, Mugen, OEM K20A LSD... thats all i can remember for right now. All the companies i just listed make an LSD for the K20A/A2.
Oh and i also wanted to add, that i read edo from clubrsx had problems with his K20A LSD after he started to make like 240whp. I think it just whimped out because it was not made to handle those kind of hp/tq levels. If you plan on making alot of power i wouldnt go with the K20A LSD.

My goals for my car are aimed at around 250hp. MJ23FE, so you would say I would be better off going with aftermarket lsd. I am not to worried about the price, but what is your opinion on the aftermarket lsd's out right now. I have heard good things about the Quiafe, but what about Mugen or Spoon's lsd? the k20a2 does not come with an lsd. the k20a does.

DC5-R = Integra Type R = JDM RSX-R = K20A = K20ALSD.

I just got a Spoon 1.5 way LSD installed.... it works well but you wouldn't like it if its your daily driver

Its noisy at low speeds around corners. Feels like the axel is about to pop out.

 

So far I really like what I have heard about Quaife, but do any of you have any experiances with Mugen or any other companies I am not listing. Thank you all for the quick info! -Shawn

 

exactly, and i am trying to lower the noise a little bit...... it sounds like there is something wrong with the transmission

if its your daily driver, i recommand the gear type LSD....

yeah, if its your daily driver, get quaife, it is more quiet....

mugen, spoon, kaaz, cusco makes clutch type LSD, it locks up better but its noisy and require maintenance, like changing transmission oil more frequently
