for 5th gen its a pain in the ***, i bought the filter and paid a mechanic 30$'s to change it for me... but if you have time on your hand go for it! youll need upper + lower access to ur car...

Try to take out the brackets that hold the filter down and relocate it up more so itll be easier to access next time you wanan change it yourself... if i remember someone did a write up on it, just needed longer fuel lines and they adjusted it like 5-6 inches upwards thats all... gluck...

It's pretty simple. It's on the firewall on the passenger side. One fuel line coming from the gas tank and one going out to the fuel rail. Undo both those lines and undo the filter bracket. Repeat steps in reverse order to replace.

I want to be the one to congradulate Honda in giving them the Numb Nuts Award for 1994-1997. The sadistic freak who mapped out the location for the fuel filter on G5s needs to drawn and quarted.

stupid honda... first they hide the fuel filter then they force you to drop the fuel tank if you want to change the fuel pump.. THEN they use a funky ECU that is useless for modifying.

Hey, anyone know for sure whether a 5th gen. needs to change the fuel filter at some interval? The Honda dealers are telling me this is a "lifetime" fuel filter, i.e. never needs to be changed. Is this true? I thought all fuel filters needed to be changed at regular intervals.
because occasionally they do clog with gum etc, so they must be replaced, but if you use something like SI-1 on a regular basis, no, the filter really doesn't need to be changed. Cut one open from a wreck with more than 150k on it, you'd be surprised how clean it is.

I change my fuel filter evry 20/30.000km.
My last fiter I kept it for a little to long and at idle went up and down and some times I had some missfueling.
I changed my filter and my engine runs perfect now.
I also tried to put some injector cleaner but it was ok only for that fuel tank, as soon as I did fuel again, it goes back as before.
