I did not request to get it hot tanked. What is bad about hot tanking. I am not sure how he got it that clean. He had that block there already when i sent mines. Mine was a bad block. It is a long story.

Thanks, Rod.
The first process in sleeving is to hot tank. In the olden days, hot tanking was a bad thing because it ate aluminum. It WAS like an acid bath and very caustic.
NOW it done like a dishwasher and uses a NON-caustic solution that is aluminum safe and enviromentally friendly.
For the record, Rod sent one of the worst blocks I have ever seen still in one piece. It had been previously butchered by several people.

Two sleeves up and two sleeves down..it looked like a kid that needed braces
We pulled number one sleeve out and realized there was no hope.
I think it might be part of an Edelbrock manifold somewhere now
