Well .. maybe not ever .. but still a good one! This is from the June PCA event and features Sammy, the driver in an E30 325is, our H-T.com hero RoadRacer, in his GSR , and Steve, in a 3000GT VR4.

Now for the cool part. We straped 3 cameras into Sammy's car! 2 on the roll cage, one facing forward and one back, and one in the headlight. You get a view of Road Atlanta like never before .. plus some good up close rear bumper shots!

Damn. It's choppy and won't play correctly. I get sound, but the video is like it's on pause. I'm on a cable connection. I'll try later. Looks good though.

 

Yeah, I got the same thing. A lot of chop and then a stop and then some play and - well you get it. Zsolt, which rev. of QuickTime should we use for it (or other media player)? Oh, and did Jeff get any pics of us at CMP???????

Zsolt~ Thanks a ton for contributing this video -- you did an incredibly job! I learned more about Road Atlanta from your video than I have from any major network's coverage of that course. Maybe it's b/c yours gives us three successive laps with three different camera angles. Or maybe it's because these cars are putting down lap times that are a tad slower than the ~1:15 lap times put down by the GTP cars for the Petit Le Mans this past weekend Nice work! ~Casey

How many people are getting pausing problems while playing this thing back? I will try to re-encode it.

Phat-S: You need quickime 4 or 5. There are some pics from CMP, but not that many. I will try to scan them soon.

 

I can't open it at all. Maybe Zsolt is working on it right now.

And there is something that slightly resembles a muffler on the car.
With all due respect to Pontiac (the one and only time I'll ever say that), "LOUDER is better."

 

I have re-encoded the video with more key frames to try to get better playback. On slower computers, it will still pause and drop frames, but should not freeze anymore.

does anyone know where i can find any in car footage from watkins glen? i am going to be doing a drivers school there soon and want to find an in-car perspective of the track.

 

I was able to get it to work in its original form. Very professionally done! I like it. I have a friend who put a roof cam on top of his car at the autox and I thought that was nice, but this...!

Scott, your gsr sounds sweet. I've heard Scott S's ITS gsr before in person a couple of times and I have to say that the sound of that unmuffled vtec at 8K is awesome. Mike's ITS del sol sounds just as nice as well, but at a slightly different note.

 

Zsolt... friggin awesome video!!! I think I'll have a camera with me for the THSCC event. We'll have to get some shots of everyone and have you make another video... You will be there, right?

Looking forward to that and the Sandlapper Bimmer event.
