Insurance Question:
I know it may not apply to this forum, but I would really appreciate some help b/c so many people on this board had their vehicles vandalized and/or stolen.
My cousin had her 97 Civic EX stolen ~ 3 weeks ago, yesterday they find it, after seeing the car, State Farm decides to claim it as a Total Loss. However, they are refusing to reimburse the aftermarket equipment on the vehicle because they believe only items that were added on the vehicle can be claimed (i.e. a spoiler, window tint); items replacing OE equipment therefore are not considered (Her Greddy, for example, replaced her OE exhaust, and cannot be claimed). Is it typical insurance policy to have this happen?
I am now worried because I thought all my mods are covered, when in fact, they may not be...
