NSX vs. M3
Like the title says, if you had the choice which would you choose and why:
Used NSX [insert fav. year]
2002 BMW M3 w/ SMG II Tranny
Just curious what the common concensus around here would be..?

New M3 or old? New prototype NSX or current? If the protype NSX actually comes with a V8 then Im taking that. If not, id probably get an old NSX. Much less seen than the M3. I mean you dont have to look hard for one. They look just like a 3 series for the most part.
NSX Type R/S-Zero/Zanardi Edition over new M3. 'cause I dont like their F1 team let alone their cars.
Plus, those NSX will outperform the bimmer all around the track.

supersonic youre dumb if you dont like bmw f1 team then what do you like? the honda that never finishes the race? if you dont know anything then shut up. BTW nsx and m3 both equally tite cars hard to choose.

Yes I do like BAR and Jordan. Yes I do like the Benz team, and YES BMW didn't finish the USGP. Talk about being a hypocrite.
You need to shut up.
Price difference taken into consideration? I love the NSX, but would not like dropping $20k in value just leaving the lot. Also, with the talk of the new NSX, I think the price tag will be over $100k, thus making it that much more unobtainable. Bang for buck award goes to the M3.
haha i like to see any honda powered F1 even place top 10 in a race! yea bmw's didnt win the USGP but they won alot....more than what honda can say
Give honda a break they just started racing last year, it takes time to do things right, BMW is a mess anyways. F1 shows that Hondas have enough power to compete while BMW's win but have poor engine reliability. go with the NSX any year, fix it up and what's left is to put in a good driver.
As much as i love Hondas, I would take the M3. Both cars are equally great, but SMG II is sweet, and a new M3 is a better deal that a 1996 NSX for the same price. Another compairison is the M5 vs NSX, both new. Sorry to say it, but the M5 is faster, and i would take it insead, cuz it seats 5, and ill help my friends get lied. People know a NSX can smoke them, but wont it be funny when a 4-door luxury sedan kills them?

The reason a new NSX is faster than a new M5 is because the M5 weighs 4000 friggin' pounds.
a lot of you guys are funny... it really depends on what your priorities are.
Have you driven an NSX on the track? Have you driven a M3 on the track? E30 E36 whatever... I am a NSX owner and I will be getting the drive the new M3 hopefully in the near future (co-worker owns one). This question can't be answered you've truelly driven each car. Both cars have equal potential and would be competive against each other assuming the drivers are capable of utilizing each car's strengths. I know several people around here who have both a NSX and a M3. (coworker) That would be the ultimate dream.
As far as my personal taste... I've driven both of the older M3s and I was impressed... but if it was my only weekend warrior car, I'd wouldn't trade the exotic look of my NSX any day. Where I live, there are TONS of M3s and other 3 series cars... Even if the M3 was consistently faster, it'll never be able to match all the good things about the NSX. I own a NSX and a MR2... and I've never driven a car yet that gives me such good visibility up front. It feels like a go-cart... That the M3 can't do.
