Default Engine burns oil... could I still boost it?

Well my engine(d15b7 115kmiles) burns some oil.
it's usually not much,

like if I start off at full after an oil change,
by the next oil change it'll drop down to half to 1/4
i'm usually pretty late doing my oil changes too.

thing is, I have most of my turbo kit ready,
I just need to complete the oil/charge lines, and get something to control my dsm 450's.

I plan on 7-8psi, and MAYBE 9-10 for short spurts, if things are going well.

What i'm wondering is, could the oil loss be a bad sign for turbo'ing?
What type of problems could cause the oil loss?

Car doesnt leak, or at least it doesnt have any puddles,
there IS a bit of moisture around the bottom of the block, looks like it might be oil... but it seems like a VERRRYY slow leak, as its only moist.

anyways, any info is greatly appreciated as usual.
thanks

edit:

did some research,
I've got no air compressor, so no leakdown for me (i'm lazy so ) hehe

just checked my oil... it looks close to full... where as it was at half way before...

I just realized.. my old garage is at a slant

h/t should just start smacking me, hahaha
I think my motor might just be good to go for boost!!!!
