Default Who is running an Exedy clutch?

Is it a good clutch?

I just bought the Exedy clutch kit for $300, ACT wanted $500 for the kit and I couldn't see paying an extra $200.

The guy also told me that ACT clutches are remanufactured.

IMO Excedy=Da bomb

I have/will again have an Excedy Organic Clutch (full assembly) in my b16 4g Hatch. I used it as my daily driver. It had great pedal feel and awesome engagement properties. I never went to a drag/auto-x event with it, so I can't speak for it there. However, racing around town it did awesome. I paid 275 shipped from clutch city online. I got a free shirt too.

I had an Exedy Organic that lasted for about 20k then it cracked in 4 places and some bits broke off. I hope you have a stock setup if you got an organic.

i have exedy racing. did and inspection at 12k cuz i had to pull the tranny. Minor heat spots on the pressure place and one of the springs was starting to dig in. Aside from that it's working fine.

I'm running an Exedy racing clutch on my b16 making around 250hp and it loves it. I got it last summer and it still chirps third. I was on the phone with http://www.clutchcityonline.com the other day and they recommened it for another setup that I'm building with a 350hp goal.

He said the company that makes the Exedy clutch is the same company that makes OEM clutches, but they are new, not remanufactured and not OEM.

The act clutch disk I have seen looked exactly like the exedy. Pressure plate looks differnt but I wouldn't be surprised if the disk is from the same maker.
Anyways, I have the exedy organic with the act 12.5lb flywheel. Awsome setup for the daily!

I Will be getting a exedy clutch in 1 week and I will install it in 2 weeks. It will probably take me a little while to run it because its always a good idea to break it in first. ANYWAY.... ill tell you everything about it.. how i like it and how it compares to stock. BTW im getting the racing exedy... not the stock replacement...
I hope it churps in 4th

The Exedy clutches are good clutches. The organics are great for cars not making too much over stock. Once you go over that, I would *absolutely* recommend the ACT clutch. We run the ACT clutch in all of our turbo Hondas, and we are very pleased.

If you would like some more help, please PM me. We sell both, and have raced with both, and can recommend something for you.

I love my act and the only remmand hub they use is for th stock replacment clutch.

Watch out buying from prostreetonline...had a bad experience with them and their customer service (or lack there of) were in no way sympathetic. They actually still owe me money on return shipping after sending me an unwrapped stock disk when i ordered a HDSS kit...
