Default steering wheel with detachable hub and security

If you had like a momo steering wheel with a detachable hub, is they're any other way that someone can steal your car besides a tow truck?? If that's what will make my car anymore "less-stealable" then I'll invest in one.. What do you guys think? Peace

As long as it doesn't have any slop or play, definately get one.

What he said.

They're great for anti-theft purposes.

A few years back, maybe many years back GT Grant had a removable steering wheel that had a metal cover for the hub that locked. I did a search on the net and can't find it. Would anyone know if its still being made or availble for our cars?

I would say that the level of protection is minimal at best. The only person you'll stop is the spur-of-the-moment thief.

More knowledgable ones will carry large vice grips with them, or some tools and a stock steering wheel. I suppose it's better than nothing, especially if you're layering security measures.

You're REALLY going to spend $357 for a quick release adapter?
http://inlinefour.com/rapquicsteer.html

If so, I suppose another $120 for the lock isn't that big of a deal.

Yes, the cost is high (not as expensive as a stolen car)... but may be justifiable to those who want to have that extra "layer" of theft deterrent/prevention!

If you're going to do it, get a good old momo hub, LTB hex QR adapter, and a $200 wheel, like the Momo Mod 78. All available from LTB Motorsports. That's like $350 TOTAL.

I can't believe you guys are suggesting $300 QR hubs.

Well, a QR with a working horn on the steering wheel option is kind of nice.

I mean, sure, you could rig up something but these units look like they're plug and play.

LTB.. the sell the quick releases @ 129 a piece don't they?

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=754708 = tighter fit, and lower priced.

I have 3 different types or QR's.

And even when you do, these commercial interjections are still not allowed in tech forums.
