The IM, and dizzy look like a dohc zc, but the valve cover is not. I have no idea. Ryan
Edit, its prolly a zc, just a weird v cover

thats where crx's go when they get totalled, salvaged, junked, or parted

that motor is interesting thouhg. anymore info on it? horsepower? obd? cable or hydraulic tranny with it? gear ratios? does it share everything with the more common ZC or just the name?
i think that valve cover and engine would look oem/sleeperish in an 84-87 civic.

The motor is pretty much the same as a JDM DOHC ZC but it is in a car made by a company called Rover in the UK I believe. Actually from going through some posts on the ZCresource it appears that honda was contracted to make the cars for the company.
it's a rover
honda owned 20% of rover (and rover some of honda i think) during the 80's and early 90's before bmw bought rover.
they jointly developed cars during this period for example:
triumph acclaim = honda accord
honda concerto = rover 200 series
the d16a6, d16a9 and d16a8 engines among others were used in the rovers (216 and 416, Gsi and Gti models) . the engine in that pic is a d16 - it's the same as used in honda civics/crx's with just a different valve cover.
they also share suspension, gearboxes, electronics etc. - I currently have a rover 216 gti gearbox in my '88 crx

unlike the uk/japan, we did not receive a civic/crx with a twin cam d-series motor.

When I first saw it, I thought it was a Mitsu engine. Would be a different valve cover to have.

Just curious, is that thing in front of the distributor on a jdm/usdm d16 or zc? I dont remember that on my d16.

Wow, it looks so much like that eclipse non-turbo valve cover, except that the cam gears are on the other side on Mitsu motors....

i thought it was a crank walk motor at first as well...........
i was like who the hell would drop a Mitsu into a civic. Then i looked more closely to see it was a JDM ZC with an after market valve cover......
