Default rear defroster problems!

I own a 1990 civic si that is pretty much a project car. The problem that I am currently working on is my rear defroster. If I turn it on, or what would be on, the light on the switch comes on, but the defroster doesn't work. I have checked all of my fuses and I am now stumped. Why would the light come on if the circuit wasn't complete? Please help if you can.

most likely the rear defroster lines on the glass itself is messed up.

I have also checked the lines on the glass and they are all intact. As for it not defrosting, the only real reason that it is a concern is because I was pulled over and given a $110 ticket because the window was all fogged up. I fought it in court saying that it was crap to get a ticket for that since there are delivery trucks and vans that don't even have rear windows to see out of at all, but they still slammed me with the full $110.

Sorry bout the ticket, i'm in Oregon too, i have seen cop more often on the street lately . check if you have a water puddle somewhere on the trunk or inside your car, that might be the source.

about the defoger, i guess start using a volt meter
