Default Audi 5000 turbo questions(KKK K26) and 1 intercooler question.

Hey peeps. I finally got my turbo a couple of weekends ago and I am very anxious to get it on my car. But anyways it is a KKK K26 off of and Audi 5000. I was just wandering if anyone knew the trim and a/r of this turbo and if this is a good turbo. And for the people who have had experience with this turbo...when did it start to pull and did it pull all of the way to redline. And how much horsepower or psi is this turbo capable of?

And for the intercooler question... I also got my intercooler off of the audi ( it is like a 13x7x3) and I was just wandering if I could remove the endtanks (very easily done, just flip up some prongs) and make me some custom ones out of sheet metal and reposition the inlets and outlets?

Thanks for any help in advance. I cant wait to get my turbo on.

well, at 7.5 psi, I didn't get any measurable drop in psi. I took a reading from off the compressor housing and then one at the throttle body and they were pretty much identical. Also, it seems to be cooling quite well, but I don't have any numbers, but on a hard day of driving, I felt the compressor side of the IC and it was pretty hot and on the other side it was actually quite cool.

The k26 is good for 250hp-300hp. It really is a inefficient turbo. I would stay away from it.

Cool...how much did it cost you to make the end tanks?

I also have an intercooler core that is a bit bigger but not as thick. the dimensions are 25" length, 10" high 2" thick. I want someone to make endtanks for those, but I heard that you need to make some extra thing at the sides of the intercooler where you kinda weld a plate or something??? So basically when you look at the sides you only see the oval tubing...not the fins?! I could be confusing people..sorry!
