Here goes,
When I am racing or generally just getting on it, I am getting some grinding when I shift from 2nd to 3rd. Not all the time just sometimes. Anyways, I called my local Acura dealer to have them look at it and tell me what the problem is. Automatically the jckass is like " I bet it is a bad synchro and if so the we cannot fix that under warranty, blah blah blah". I can't go to another dealer cuz its the only one around me. Is this true? Can they not fix that ****? The only mod I have is AEM CAI..... Thinking about getting an attorney if they try to bullshit me so let me know what you think.

 

Does it grind only when you shift at high rpm? If yes then it may very well be the synchro. Try doing a fast 2nd-3rd shift at redline and see. Your dealer can refuse to fix it under warranty because bad synchros can be caused by abusive driving. If your car has very low miles they will usually fix it under warranty. Otherwise it's up to the dealer and Acura if they will fix it. Good luck.

 

Is it not inevitable that hard driving and especially racing, will wear your synchros? How can it be avoided? Also, I've notice every honda that grinds on shifts, it's always the 2-3 shift that grinds, or is the first to grind....
