Default Why it's good to have connections...

Ok, first off... I'd like to thank Marc (BlueR) for calling Len for me, because I didn't have his number off hand, and Len, who is took my emergency clutch order and hooked me up.

Boo is a bitch, that's all there is to it. I guess she thinks that 100,000 miles on a clutch is too much! I can't give her all the blame, I felt it coming... But I was like, lemme get through this weekend and we'll be good.

Nope, not gonna happen. Not a sign of any problems as I drove around today. I thought to myself, "hey... she's feeling good. I have 1 last errand to do and I'll put her back in the garage where she belongs." As I go to put it in 1st gear at a busy intersection, nothing happens. I'm like WTF, flipping off the people who are honking at me. I lift my foot off of the clutch and it sticks to the ground. "No biggie", I say, "I must be low on fluid." I lift the clutch up with my big toe and push it down and have enough pressure to get it into 1st. I nurse her up to a parking lot and put it in park. The resevoir is full. I think, "I only live 3 minutes from here and the roads aren't busy, maybe I can nurse her home." Not the case, I get it into first and lift the clutch up with my toe again and push it all the way down. The car starts driving as if I don't have the clutch in. "I'll be damned."

This is where the connections lie. A close friend of mine owns 2 junkyards and a towing company for Orlando. I tell myself that I'm not leaving my car in this parking lot without supervision. This parking lot is where the local stunnas/ricers meet on Thursday nights. My future brother-in-law happens to be a driver for the towing company and I call them up and he comes out right away, but my car's too low to get on his truck. He calls out another driver and we get the car on there with a few scratches to the lip. She's safely brought home and my new clutch is on the way.

Cliffs: Thanks to Marc and Len
Clutch went out, new clutch coming
Free tow to my house

F that biatch

My happy brother-in-law

Made it less scratchy on the way down

There's plenty of clearance

Gives me a good excuse to rebuild the R tranny that's been sitting in the garage for a year and install the JDM FD finally

Right on Marc... I have to work that weekend, so we'll probably just stop in and say hi and hang out for a little bit. It's nice living closer now.

yeah yeah yeah, I know, it's Ricey. It's on there cuz I don't have any other plate on it. It's going on the RHD civic. I'm shaving the plate holes when I get the car painted, so it's on there for now. Oh well, I LOVE RICE

I tow mine the same way usually...sometimes the actual pulling the car onto the flatbed can be worse.
