problems with zc swap?
I just put a zc motor in a 88hf shell i bought. I am having problems getting it started. I have fuel, spark, and compression. I am getting a cel for codes 6, 10, 13. Can anyone shed some light on to why it won't start. When I first turn it over it sounds like it wants to start but then just goes rrnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn and nothing.

yes it is the biggest honda related site...but when u search you have to have atleast 3 characters.....on google u can use as many as u want....
code 6- coolant temp. sensor. check the plug underneath the distributor and make sure its connected or if the wires are cut. (if i remember right, the car wont start without this connected)
code 10- Intake Air Temp. see if the sensor on the driver side of the intake manifold, its white and held on by 2 screws, if that is connected
code 13- Atomospheric Pressure. thats a bitch and you have to do a bunch of voltage messuring at the ecu, try a different ecu for that one and see if it clears...

hrmm it should start, if its been sitting for awhile which most like it has try this.. disconect all the injectors, start cranking it, when it sounds like its going to start, and has enoughc ompression, then have someone clip them all back on while ur still cranking,
whats happening is the engine is getting flooded with to much fuel and burning off all the oil, and its not getting enough compression.
anyways try that.. as for the codes, check all ur grounds

I have a multimeter. I just don't know what I am looking for voltage wise? Do you know the colors to wires going to the intake air sensor. I want to make sure I didn't mix up any wires. I am going to swap out the ecu out of my obd0 integra tomorrow to see if it helps.

ok... Well come to find out that the codes were from me swapping plugs only to find out that wasn't the problem. I switched thwm back but didn't properly reset the ecu
. Anyways, car turns over but doesn't start. It blows out a bunch of dark smoke and smells like gas.. anyone with some new ideas.

Do you have any info for them? I don't reallyu want to tow it somewhere if I don't have to, I think I am running out of options....When I swapped the motor in my integra things went so much smoother.

check your plugs they could be fouled by all the fuel from cranking the damn thing over to much! I had that problem. Also make sure firing order is correct. Be cause you could be getting spark but not in the right order!
nice to hear. my zc should of been runnning a week ago but we bent the valves on startup- i didnt do the timing but the guy i got it from didnt make me pay him anything for it, free ZC. me and boostedb20vtec will have it up and running friday
