Default tuning fuel with the SAFC

i'm going to the dyno soon to get my car tuned. unfortunately i only have an SAFC, so i won't be able to tune low and hi cam maps like with the VAFC. am strapped for cash right now so i cant buy the VAFC. would tuning on the dyno with the SAFC be effective? or would i just be wasting my time?

or would i be better off just adjusting the cam gears and just leave the SAFC alone?

well, you can still tune the fuel just fine with the SAFC, you just can't change the vtec engagment. I don't have much experience with a type-r motor, so i really dunno if lowering the vtec will gain you back alot of midrange. Like on the h22As i tune, i can pull out like a good 25hp in the mid range by lowering the vtec engagement about 300rpm or so.

But if you just wanna level out the a/f ratio you should be ok with an SAFC.
