Default tps on a d16y8 problem, need some confirmation.

well i was driving today and all of a sudden, everytime i try to take off after coming to a stop the car would shake up to about 1500-2000 rpm and then drive normal. i was thinking that its my trans cause my car was rear ended two weeks ago (auto trans) but about 15 mins later the check engine light came on, i immediately pulled over and check out the code. i got a code 7 for the tps, so i'm hoping its the tps and not my trans. my questions are:

1. could i use the tps off of my d16z6 motor?
2. heard that i could unplug the tps and car would run fine, is it true, could i do this for now till i find a replacement?

1.yes.but,before replacing it,i would troubleshoot it.
2.i believe that will put the car in limp mode.you can do it,but i certainly wouldn't ride around like that for any period of time.

get a shop manual-even a $10 Haynes from any auto parts store has the troubleshooting procedure.

d20 and d22 should be 5 volts.
d11 and d22 at idle should be .45volt and wot should be at 4.5volts

Ebay has TPS sensors for like $10.00. You could use any TPS from Integra-Civic 92-00. If you unplug the TPS sensor then the car WILL go into fail safe mode and retard everything. Heres the ebay link.

Or you can use the TPS from a CBR-954.

But you may want to test yours out first so your not blindly replacing parts and end up where you started.
