Default which car to buy for turbo

I have a chance to purchase a b16 civic or h22 civic for about the same price. My plans are turbo no matter which way I go. They already have swaps so the H22 isnt going to be a hassle. I know that b16's drop right in and making a turbo kit is relatively easy for them. As for an h22, would it be a really tight fit? I'm making my own kit so i'll be custom fabricating anyway but I don't want something that is ungodly difficult to fit a turbo on. Are the charge pipes going to have to be all fucked up going every which way? Basically I need an answer on fitment and if its going to be a lot harder or different than turboing a b16. I already have fuel management under control and I understand that h22's are weak to turbo from the factory so thats not a factor in what i'm asking. TIA

the h22 has thinner walls, so unless you re-sleeve, you wont be able to run the same boost compared to a b16

holly **** who cares about how much boost you run. boost has some many varibles in it that it doesn't mean much for ****. you could run 10psi on a motor make 300whp then take that same motor, switch out the turbo for a different one run 15psi and only make 250whp.

fuckn **** people need to learn that boost is not a constant it has soooo many varibles that it can not be comparied. well it shouldn't be but dumb *** still do.

go with the h22a you won't have to run that much boost, and you will get some very nice number search around in the FI forum. turbo's LOVE displacment gets more air moven at lower RPM's.

so for you question, id go with the h22a

You didn't really mention what type of civic you are putting it in, but assuming eg or ek style types, I would tell you H22 is the only way. You will like it much much better, and if you later decide not to boost, for whatever reason, you will have a much fast "bone stock" car.

Yes they are good options as well.... But right now i'm looking to buy a car already with a swap so i'm limited to what people have. I'd do the swap myself but if possible i'd rather buy a car already swapped because it will be cheaper. Eg shells are expensive around where I live... So any ideas on fitment of the turbo?

it would seem to me that the h22 would be a better motor for drag racing if that is more what your into...but then again im no pro and have never driven a hatch with and H22, but from what i understand (a friend has this set up) the car seems to push some while cornering...thus to much weight in the front of the car. But for a straight line car this is the set up he chose. I have a turbo b16 in my eg and love it, seems to do real well on the street as well as at the dragstrip, however, for an auto cross or track car i would much refer an all motor set up,the power is more unpredictable in a turo car, with lag and boost surge and all, maybe an R swap or built B series would be better for the track, so dude in other words, do what YOU like best, or what you can best afford to do. by the way i would take about 12,000 or so for my 93SI with the 99B16 and Rev hard turbo set up, plus a **** load of other stuff, just thought i would mention it
