Default 2.5" flared to 3" Downpipe? help needed!

I have a 99Si with a B16 motor, and will be running an Inline Pro manifold, and SC34 turbo. I will have a revhard 2.5" downpipe. I want to run 400+whp, so i was thinking about running the 2.5" till it passes the AC compressor cause i want to keep AC, and then flare it out to 3" and 3" all the way back. By doing this will it allow be to run bigger numbers with no problems? or because of that foot and 1/2 of 2.5" will it still cause too much restriction. Yeah i know 3" is the best and thats what i want, if SOMEONE can sell me one that will work hey im down for a good price. Will i have to buy a new 5 bolt flange for a 3" pipe? i was thinkin a vband steup for that.

Ohh yeah... will this DP work for when i put in the B18 block?

Just flare it out after the a/c compressor. Here's what i did for wrestler121's inlinepro downpipe

I dont have pics of mine, but Im runniing the same setup sc34 turbo, inline pro, Revhard downpipe.

Heres what I did I bought a Revhard DP from Tony1, bought a 2.5-3" flare, bought a 3" flex pipe from b18flip , and I bought 10-12" on straight pipt from Tony.

To keep it simple I just had him cut DP after it made it's curve and headed toward rear of car(right before Oil pan) then added in flex section, then about 12" of straight to connect directly with the exhuast.

Basically we used the Revhard as a Premade halfway Dp and just worked off that .

Similar to others I have AC and I'm using the existing 2.5" Maxrev downpipe that bolts onto the turbine and straight after the bend (after the AC compressor), we cut it and made a 2.5"-3" flare and its all 3" from there, flexpipe and down to muffler straight through. The difference is AWESOME to say the least!

it should work ok, the only thing is that the b16a blocks are a few mm shorter than the b18's so you may have to pound on the oil pan a bit if it hits it.

I'll be using a Lovefab SST mani, Precision SC50 and 2.5"-3" flare on my downpipe. Hoping to make around 350whp with it.

If its a revhard/inlinepro manifold setup i wont need it, but if its anything else i'd need the manifold

proeater had sent me his since i didnt have access to an si greddy kit. Although i was able to make a ghetto mock up so i can do those to

BTW here's his 2.5" to 3" flared Greddy downpipe

Does the dumptube just end there or did you eventually route it back into the exhaust?

yup, those pieces are good. They're a bit shorter, cheaper and are machined from mild steel ....i opted for the 304L stainless piece for bling

not really sure, i've never seen a dyno comparison but it should help a bit w/ spool time. I think another member posted that it made a big difference compared to his 2.5" DP

I wanted one out of 304SS but they don't offer one it so I did the mild steel. Here is my 304 SS 3" downpipe w/LoveFab manifold... This is for a buddys car not mine.
