Default You pick my setup

hey guys,
I finally joined the Honda crowd and picked me up an '88 hatch. I am trying to learn as much as I can as I go along and I am already ordering parts from these boards like a ****. Ok, now I haven't decided yet if I want to go all-motor or turbo but I was hoping you guys can help me decide. Right now the car sits with the stock DPFI D15 on it. I already have an MPFI odb0 conversion harness ready to go. I have a B16A1 block at the machinist to start work on it, but then I came accross some good deals in all motor non-VTEC parts. Can I put an LS head on a VTEC block? I was thinking either B20 or B18 LS head into the B16A1 block. will that work? For the block I was hoping on swapping in high compression ARIAS pistons(84-86mm) after a full sleeve job. I am pretty much trying to get as much help as I can, if I end up using a part you pick on the setup then your name goes into the car(paint) as a contributor, ...try to help me out, I want to have the car ready for 2005 race season.
thanks,
JCC

P.S. if I go N/A I will have a lot of turbo parts for sale, bar-n-plate FMIC 36x6x3.5, lot of autometer gauges(all new), 3 gauge universal pod, tial 38mm wastegate, HF manifold T3 adapter plate.

Uhh, kinda pointless to have a non vtec head on a vtec block. Best route, IMO is to find a good B20 block and build that puppy, slap on a B16A or ITR head and have done with it.

I know, but I picked that block up stupidly cheap and it was in great condition. The reason why I like the B16 is the displacement for all motor, not because of torque but because of revs. I could also try destroking a B18 or B20. I don't know exactly where I want to go with this thing. help me, lol,
JCC

P.S. any cams you reccommend?

you just made yourself an idiot by posting that, maybe if you explained yourself you could be at least constructive....your criticism as stated is worthless,

It depends on what you want from the car. Seeing how you are located in Florida, your are probably going to be more into drag racing, which is where you are going to want forced induction with a honda. If you got the B16 block cheap you could always sell it for profit$$$ to use on turbo parts. I would say go turbo LS or B20, but don't look into putting a non- vtec head on a vtec motor, kinda pointless imo. But what ever you do it is your choice. peace

well I've been a car enthusiast for a while but I was a str8 up Nissan head until now. Yeah, I pretty much have the money and resources(machinist/shop) to get everything done in a year's time. Yes, I mainly want a drag setup. So, if I want an N/A top-end then get a larger block? and if I go FI then the B16 is fine and just get any VTEC head? all right, any valvetrain components you guys reccommend? cams, springs, retainers, valves, seats, etc?
thanks,
JCC
