Transmission oil
Does anyone know how often, we should change transmission oil.
mine is manual 89 Civic hatch D series, and since there is no drain plug, is there any effective method ot flush it ?

There is a drain plug and a fill plug. The drain plug has to be taken of with the adapter part of a 3/8" ratchet. It's at the lowest part of the transmission case. The fill plug is a 17mm, level with the axle holes. Make sure you replace the gaskets for both.
Now about the intervals, I have no idea. I usually change the fluid every time I pull the tranny, i.e. changing the clutch. A manual should have that information.

sometimes i can hear the engine chattering (on idle)
how can i check oil on the manual since there is no dipstick?
is changing tranny oil similar to changing engine oil?

to check the level, pull the filler plug and stick your finger in. if u can feel some fluid the level is good. but if your there you may as well change it. your gonna need a funnel and a few feet of small hose. in the warmer months when im tracking the car more and doing lots of autox, ill change it pritty often. sometimes every 6k. but i also dont want to have to replace another trans. so i like to treat this one real nice. i'd immagine you could change it 2-3x a year and be fine.
oh, and honda mtf

castrol hd 30 is what i use for tranny fluid. if im not mistaken, i think the manual says to use motor oil for the tranny. i used mtf for awhile, its too expensive to use when you can just use motor oil.

since i never did change tranny oil by my self. After reading it sound pain stalking process (goes taking off passenger wheels, crawling from wheel well hunting for bolt
, taking starter apart, moving batteries, not to mention fitting my big wrench in there) Drainning seemed to be easy, the filling it back is painfull.
Might try it this weekend.
i dont have a torque wrench, will tightening using regular wrench will do?

Forget what you 'hear' or read. I've personally used 10w30 motor oil in all the tranny swaps i've done.
The manual says you can use it. Call up Haynes and Honda and tell them that all their manuals are wrong (note: sarcasm)
